❓ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Here are answers to the most common questions about letter exchange and using the Envelope de Papel platform.
About Letter Exchange
How do I start exchanging letters?
To start exchanging letters, first create your complete profile on the platform. Then, explore other correspondents' profiles and send a correspondence request. Once approved, you can send your first letter!
How long should I wait for a reply?
There's no set timeframe. Each person has their own rhythm and routine. Some people respond within a week, while others might take months. The important thing is to respect everyone's pace and be patient.
Do I need to decorate my letters?
It's not mandatory! You can send simple letters, handwritten or typed. Decoration is optional and depends on your personal taste. The most important thing is the content and the connection you establish with your correspondent.
What should I write in my first letter?
In your first letter, introduce yourself! Talk about your hobbies, interests, what you like to read or watch, and why you decided to exchange letters. Ask your correspondent questions to start a conversation. Be authentic and write as if you were talking to a friend.
How do I deal with correspondents who don't respond?
If a correspondent doesn't reply after a considerable amount of time, you can send a gentle message asking if everything is okay. If there's still no response, respect their decision and consider finding new correspondents. Remember that people have their own lives and commitments.
About Mail Services
How long does it take for a letter to reach its destination?
Delivery time varies according to the destination:
- Local letters (same city): usually 2-3 business days
- Regional letters (same state/province): 3-7 business days
- National letters: 5-10 business days
- International letters: 2-6 weeks, depending on the country
How do I send letters to other countries?
To send international letters, you need to use the correct international postage, which varies according to weight and destination country. Visit your local post office to get the exact amount. Remember to correctly fill out the address, including the postal code and country in capital letters.
What should I do if my letter gets lost?
Unfortunately, regular letters don't have delivery guarantees or compensation in case they get lost. If you sent a registered letter, you can file a complaint with your postal service using the tracking number. For important items, we always recommend using a registered mail service.
